(The twinkling lights happen every evening after dusk for 5 minutes at the beginning of each hour, and it’s magical.) It was pretty crowded when we went, and I was glad we booked tickets in advance.

Day two was a feast for our taste buds. We indulged in freshly baked croissants, pain au chocolat, and coffee (decaf tea for her) at a charming café, embracing the quintessential Parisian breakfast. We sampled delightful macarons throughout the day and relished decadent crème brûlée and other treats. Each bite was a culinary adventure, immersing us in the rich flavors of French cuisine. We had lunch at Cafe Flore and then made our way to Shakespeare and Company to pick up a few books. There was a line to get in, but it moved pretty fast. We were lucky enough to find spots upstairs next to the big window to sit and read for a bit. The view of the city is magical! After that, we explored quaint cobblestone streets, indulging in pastries and immersing ourselves in the city’s artistic soul. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow upon the city, we found ourselves with a bittersweet feeling in our hearts; we vowed to return someday, knowing that Paris had not just been a destination but a magical chapter in our lives and a bonding moment for mom and teen.
